There are several options that you have when deciding on how to have your picture taken on prom night. There are different options for every person, every couple, and every financial situation. You can go as inexpensively as taking your own pics with a digital camera, or digital camera disposable, or even beef it up and have your pictures taken at a professional photographers studio prior to the prom (some individuals have pics taken as early as a few preceding weeks). The parents of both individuals have the general obligation to purchase pictures according to their budget; the prom-provided photographer can cost as much as forty dollars on a minimum package so a second opinion is advised for those who want a better price and better quality. It is generally a solicitous act on behalf of the school to provide a photographer but the quality and lighting of the photos can always be better; it is no surprise that the school-hired photographer is not always the most renowned. So it is always best to reconsider your own options as needed.
There are a few general rules that come with the school photographer and these instill a certain amount of poses and frames. If you are willing to pay for these limitations for the general convenience then by all means use what is readily available. Your prom night is a big event and even when it comes down to the wire you know, as well as everyone else, that taking advantage of what is available is better than having nothing at all to fall back on. It may be cheaper, or of better quality, to go with another option of photography but if you do not have any other open options than I would recommend going with what you have.
If there is no digital camera in your household this may be an excellent excuse to purchase one a few months prior to the event. The prices are going down on some of the better name-brands and only a few short months of setting back could equal to excellent pictures for prom and then great pics for years to come. Digital cameras are certainly worth the investment due to the convenience and inexpensive developing methods that will be available to you afterward. You have many options readily available for use, do some simple planning a few weeks prior, and you will have no need for the schools offered options. Use a method that will fit your budget, your needs and preferences, and your style.
