The Prom Planner

Details, Details, Details

We all have one friend, out of the clique, who is just amazing at putting together the post-evening events. That one person always perfectly plans the get-togethers, takes care of getting everyone the right info, making the reservations, gathering the right supplies, clearing the plans, setting up the 'who-brings-what's', figuring the times and schedules, phoning everyone on three-way to hash out the driving-detail, and on-and-on it goes; everything down to the last BYOB detail. If you are this person then you must realize your talent and realize that you will always receive the blunt end of the post-event planning. Well, that one person may very well be you, and if it is, don't worry, you were picked by your BF's for a reason. It means you are good at what you do. So there is no doubt, when it comes to prom night that you will probably be the one taking over there too. If you are nominated for the post-prom events where should you begin? Maybe you are better at party planning then staffing full-fledged event nights.

Gather Info First

You may want to figure out whether the evening will be best suited for a pre or post-prom event. This will concern the differing plans involving everyone. Some BF's will want to hang before, and others, after. So coordinate the time and have everyone get back with you on the set. Pre-prom parties are sweet because you get the opportunity to show-off, take lots of (untouched) pics, grab some grub, and the chicks get to primp before the event. These gatherings are best planned at one person's home versus a restaurant or club. This way you can enjoy the food, company, decorations, music and other aspects for several hours before it is even time to think about leaving for prom. Pick the time, the house, the details, and the transportation to and from the prom. This type of event will make it easy to arrange for one-stop limo pick-up for everyone. For a post-prom party the idea, specs, schedule, food and transport all remain the same the only exception is the coordinating events. The foods can be messier than a pre-prom party, the attire can be more laid back, the party can last longer, and even arrangements for a DJ can be made. The post-prom parties can be a blast for the sheer time differences between pre and post parties. Just remind everyone to take their own pre-prom pics before leaving. Other than the immediate aspects of both, the details should be about the same. Keep disposable cameras all-over the place, keep the playlist continual, keep a free bathroom open, and just have fun.
