Have an Ethical Prom

Not only can you make a statement with your looks, for prom, but you can also make an ethical statement with your style by displaying your compassion via your clothing, accessories, and even beauty products. There are some awesome developments in activism that have been circulating the Nation's schools; prom being one of the functions that has been enticing fashionable favoritism.

It's easy being Green, but it is just as easy to kind. Choosing clothing, shoes, and make-up that are animal-friendly are becoming the 'In' fashion. The top designers are coming together in hopes of trashing the old ways and bringing some furry-friend-friendly alternatives to leather, fur, feathers, and other forms of animal skin. Pleather in an absolute must-have when you want a leather look-and-feel but you can't hurt the cow to do it. There are many top dollar shoe designers that use soft vinyl for their creations.

Make-up can be highly controversial depending on which blogs you happen to come across; it is scary when you realize the exact amount (and which companies still…) endorse, use, and try to protect the tortures of animal testing for cosmetics and other skin care products. There are many companies that have changed their ways and banned animal testing on their products by dubbing it as 'unethical torture'. A list of these animal-friendly companies can be found at PETA's website. (www.peta.org)

One of the best accessories that ever existed is the hand-bag, the purse, the clutch, ect. The options for animal friendly purses are endless. This is one of the all-time biggest campaigns for animal vs. accessories. All of the top bag-designers have at least one line of eco/animal friendly bags just waiting to be picked up. The fabric combinations are endless and that means the designs are endless. So get up and head to your local boutique for a spree because these designs are going fast.

The next wave in the fashion world is headed toward 100% vegan products. Make-up companies, clothing and accessory designers are all in a buzz about these super-eco products. The only question is: Who will be the first to bring down the wall?
