Beautiful hair is a large part of looking good on your big day. If you're in the midst of planning your wedding, you know how helpful checklists are in making sure that everything gets done right. So here is a wedding checklist to help you get the best tresses possible! Of course this checklist will work well for any special occasion, not just your wedding, it can be easily adapted for a prom, company party, or any formal occasion.

Start searching for a stylist. Many women will want to stick with their usual hairdresser, who already knows their hair, but many will want to find someone who specializes in formal hairstyles or find an all service salon that can take care of all their wedding beauty needs. Make sure you ask for references at the salons you're considering.
Start a style book. Keep a folder of pictures you come across that have wedding hairstyles you like.
Begin a deep conditioning routine now so your hair will be healthy the day of your event.

At this point, ideally, you should have an idea of what you want to do with your hair. Buy all the appropriate hair accessories and headpieces.
If you're planning on picking the style for your Bridesmaids, this is the time to start brainstorming with the wedding party about what you'd all like to see walking down the aisle.

Set up your trial appointment. You should bring your style book and any hair accessories you'd like to experiment with. A second opinion always helps, so ask your Mom or Maid of Honor to come with you. If you're wearing a veil, make sure your stylist shows you how to take it off without ruining your hairstyle since you won't want to wear it throughout the reception.
This is the time to cut, straighten, perm, color or highlight your hair. You don't want to save it until just before the wedding just in case a mistake is made that needs time to grow out.
Put together an emergency kit stocked with extra bobby pins, hairspray, and anything else you and your bridesmaids might need in case of a hair emergency. You might want to leave your Maid of Honor in charge of this since it will be one less thing for you to worry about when the big day comes.
Wedding Day
Make sure you bring all your hair accessories to your appointment and wear a shirt that buttons down the front so you won't ruin your hairstyle by pulling a shirt over your head when you change into your wedding dress.
