You're probably only days away from the prom at this point. If you haven't yet realized it yet, you might consider it the most important day of your life to this day. Years from now, you'll be telling kids around your age today about your prom and your experiences, and the first thing they'll be asking for are photos. So, you dig out your photo album and sift through the photos of your prom, and gasp. Was your hair really that bad during the prom?

Fortunately, you can always avoid this one prom disaster in four easy steps: consider, conceptualize, criticize and create, the four C's of prom hair dos.

Consider and Conceptualize

• Consider - What would you like to look like during your prom? You'll have to take your entire body into consideration in this step. Are you big-boned, or busty? Does your butt stick out or do your cheekbones jut out of your face? Take all these items into consideration when choosing the prom hairdo for you.
• Conceptualize - Having considered your options, you should now have an idea of the best hairstyle you could ever have. It’s time to put it into action! Research on the style, and experiment: give it a try for a day or so to see if you can carry it out or if you should go back to square one. Also, you can start planning the dress you'll be matching with the 'do, as well as the jewelry you'd want to wear.

Criticize and Create

• Criticize - No hairstyle is perfect, so you should always keep an open mind. Question your decision! There might always be a better, easier hairstyle. But, remember, simplify rather than overdo it.
• Create - Give yourself enough time to prepare for the prom. Shampoo your hair regularly to keep it clean and healthy, and don't be too generous with hair sprays and gels. The hair always gets prepared last, so make sure you don't get any of the gob you'll be applying on your dress or your prom makeup.
