We All Have That Friend

When prom is approaching there is a certain amount of stress that comes along with that date. You have been planning, the outfit, the dancing, paying for dinner and a limo, and then the post-prom activities that you have to figure out; all in all it can get pretty stressful. Sometimes amidst the mess things can get more entangled than they are suppose to be but right when you realize things aren't suppose to be this hard, and you start to settle down, you have that one friend that comes along and tries to outfit you and change what you've chosen to wear. We all have at least one friend that fits this description; they come into the situation at the worst possible time and try to choose our outfit for us (or they make us absolutely sure that we chose the wrong one). If you are that friend then you have to listen: Prom is a time to have fun, dance your butt off, and be with friends.

Be a Good Friend

No one needs their real friends critiquing and stressing them out. A true friend will give constructive advice that will help them out, save them time, or even save them money. There is a big difference between giving friendly advice and harassing them. Let's say that you notice your friend has a certain pair of shoes on her wish list for prom. Maybe you have seen these same shoes at a certain department store at a discounted price and want her to know. A good friend will give her the advice about the discount and then offer to pick them up for her to help her save time; a 'serial styler' will tell the friend about the sale and then tell them that the shoes are a bit 'off' for her outfit and tell her that she will offer to pick up a pair of shoes that she thinks would suit her better. There is a big difference.

Being a good friend entails a helpful hand to help your friend out. You may have their best interest at heart, but pushing fashion advice onto others (especially after they have made their mind up and haven't asked you) is about as helpful as a real headache is. We all have individual tastes, and unique styles, no accept your friends as they are, and be as big of a diva as you want to.
