Thousands of homecoming and prom stories shared and questions aswered since 2005.
What happens when you wake up in one of those moods? Maybe you stump your toe, or you spill your orange juice first thing that morning, and what happens after that? Does everything seem to spiral out of control on a roller coaster rise of bad crap continuing throughout the rest of the day? Usually one bad event can turn our whole day upside down even on days that start out ok. Why is that? And what, if anything, can we do about it? When you are honing in on a terrific event, such as prom, and you feel certain that something is coming along as emotional sabotage you've got to take a good grip on your internal attitude and hold it steady. By doing this you can ensure that your prom night will be perfect no matter what may happen, or come along. You may not realize it but you have total control of your own external world, by getting ahold of your internal one.
When something aggravating happens, like a spill on your favorite shirt at lunchtime, you have one of two choices; you will either choose to explode into a fit of anger, or self-pity, or you will choose to make light of this situation (realize that things could be worse) know that you have control of your happenings, and move on by going to get the clean T-shirt out of your locker. This was just one example out of the millions of crappy scenarios that can arise out of the blue. When you are in the heat of planning for prom there are all kinds of things that can happen to put you on hold, or seemingly screw things up, but you have the power to take control of your reactions to any infuriating events.
It is a known fact that the less angered you become by this type of accident, the easier it is to find a permanent and exceptional solution to it. By being level-headed and contemplative you can find it amazingly easy to solve life's troubling, and hindering, issues. Your prom can be one of the most amazing nights of your life, or you can let it be a night of things that didn't go your way. It is up to you to decide how you will handle the little issues; remember that the little issues can either become bigger problems or be condensed into nothing, it is your choice and it is your attitude.
