Thousands of homecoming and prom stories shared and questions aswered since 2005.
It’s the night of the prom, and you want to shine your way through the night. Make an impression. Wow the crowd. And maybe win the crown at the end of the event.
Of course, one of the biggest things to consider if you want to bring down the house is the fact that a lot of the prom queens of the past were one (or both!) of two things: beautiful, and popular. And we all know how hard it is to be both at the same time (especially the popular part).
But this is the prom. And the one thing about the prom is that it’s a little bit easier to look beautiful since it easily becomes a requirement. So look through these photos and get ideas. Take down notes. You’ll need them.
Elegant is in when we’re talking prom, and the fancier the dress is, the better it usually is. But that can be a pretty biased opinion, and it really all boils down to the kind of woman you are. It’s been said that plumper girls have more fun accessorizing, and that can be a fact. There’s more body to hold up the billowing gowns. Check out the sample photos of women with the bigger dresses. While that might not be the most popular trend, there’s always something gorgeous about tassels flailing about you when you waltz.
At the other end of the spectrum are the stylishly sleek evening gowns. This is usually the safest route, although you might want to consider something with more consistency if you’re a bit on the meaty side of things. These gowns, as you can see, are figure-flattering dresses that have made the day for many a prom queen year in and year out, and it shows.
And then there’s the hair. Biggest thing about hair is that the style has to stay put and look good on its wearer, namely you. Some of the best hairstyles in history combined a simple style that looked good on its wearer, and that was enough to cause a sensation.
