Prom Dress Colors

Leave Your Comfort Zone!

There are certain colors, patterns, and styles that we, as individuals, avoid because of the way the details of these looks reflect upon us. Depending on our skin, hair, or eye color certain colors (or patterns) will have an unattractive upshot; it's normal. Specific staples produce specific results and we have to train our eyes to recognize the colors, patterns, cuts, and styles that cause this disorienting look to occur. Issues arising from not knowing your colors can affect how you dress everyday and even affect your dress on special occasions. If your prom is approaching then your need to learn how to discern (the good from the bad) is a must. There is a condition occurring in certain women who are unsure as to which colors to avoid; I call this condition 'coloritis'.

Coloritis

Coloritis is the act of avoiding the use of vibrant color, in dress, due to being unsure of which colors look distasteful on the individual. If we ourselves do not have 'coloritis', then we know of someone who does; we all have that friend who wears only neutrals and earth tones (even when dressing up for night's out). The problem with 'coloritis' is that you do not have to deal with it. If you, or someone you know, have this problem then it is time to face the facts and deal with it. Your prom is a very special occasion and should not be disrupted by a silly thing such as worrying about the colors you wear; you should also feel secure enough in your choices to wear more a more exciting palette than just tan or beige.

Your prom is about excitement, happiness, and stepping outside of the box. So be bold and find the colors that will bring out the best of your look. It can be easy to wash-out your appearance with the wrong color, but you can just as easily give yourself the right hint of color by matching the proper colors to your skin, hair, and eye color. You can not only use your complexion to find the right shades but you can also use the seasons to determine a nice look. Most proms occur in either the spring or summer so you can use the seasonal palette to find the right look as well. Choosing bright, vibrant hues to bring out your eyes can really cue a nice trend in your entire wardrobe. Once you find the most favoring colors you can determine you year-long attire and find simple ways to pull off your unique appeal.
