As ladies we want to look our best always; when it comes to homecoming we consider a certain level of preparation to maintain a youthful look and ensure that our skin, hair, and nails look their best even before the make-up and the up-do. Being a teen can be some of the most exciting times of our lives but because of the habitually crazy hormones we maintain a level of uncertainty when it comes to our most prized elements (hair, skin, nails). Because of this it is best to prepare with a few special treatments.
With excess sebum (oil) production occurring during the teen years keeping a fresh complexion can be a chore. With regular up-keep it can be manageable and even tolerable. The usual once a day cleaning is fine for most of a teen's body, but that is not the case with the face, arms, and neck. Be sure to cleanse your face, neck, and arms more than just once a day to ensure the best care of your body. Use an oil-free wash on both your face and body and show special attention to the sensitive areas by using a lotion SPF product multiple times daily. Try a clay/seaweed mask on the face and neck bi-weekly to deep cleanse. Always use make-up products that are oil-free, preferably mineral based or organic with natural ingredients, and never end your day without removing your make-up. Certain foundations can contain heavy oils, so look for a 'light' SPF foundation (preferably mineral) and couple it with a additive-free matte finish powder with minerals. Your face will thank you.
Always remember the basics for travel touch-ups. Keep a pouch of essentials with you in your clutch. For those ladies with oily skin you should remember to bring a packet of oil-blotting sheets. These miraculous strips are great for quick touch-ups without having to reapply anything. Keep your favorite lipstick available for reapplying throughout the night. Always carry your compact with you just in case you lose a layer laying your cheek on your dates shoulder during the slow dance. A light shade of blush (cream or powder) can be brought along to reapply after powder touch-ups to keep the color from being covered up. These essentials generally regard the make-up bases as the most important touch up fundamentals. They are the easiest to loose and therefore should be kept on-hand.
