Finding an authentic dress from that period is NOT going to happen, but they do sell dress patterns, if you search "Victorian dress patterns" or "Victorian ball gown patterns"
In addition, you're also going to need a hoop skirt, between 120" and 160" diameter to hold it up (There's an Ebay seller that sells them for just under 20, and that's the cheapest I've ever seen them. Usually they go for 60-ish)Name: x | Date: March 3, 2008, 7:31 pmActually, it would probably be easier to search Civil War Era ball gowns, or look in the costumes section of a pattern book, since the Victorian era covers a lot more than just the 1860s (and covers a variety of different silhouettes, from quite thin to hoop skirts to bustles).
