my mom won't let me buy a formal dress!!

Name: Roxanne | Date: June 7, 2005, 4:25 pm
I'm so mad!!! I saw this perfect prom dress made by Christian Dior and my mom won't let me buy it! It's only $1250, why is she trippin?! She says $1250 is an "obscene" amount of money to pay. I don't think so. I'm right, right?? I want that dress! How do I convince her to buy me the dress? I think I'd die without it...

Name: omgurcrazy | Date: October 12, 2005, 1:35 amyour mother is right on this one as much as i hate to admit the parent is rightName: whatswrongwithyou??? | Date: October 20, 2005, 11:32 amYou are a spoiled brat who needs to grow up. You don't even sound like your old enough to be having a prom. the first lady is right. you go out and make the money yourself...then see if you still think you want to spend your own money on that prom dress that IS ONLY $1250.... UR THE ONE WHOSE TRIPPIN!!!!!Name: Hey girl! | Date: December 7, 2005, 10:18 amHey girl i know what its like. my mom acted the same way when i made her buy my dress. she thought 1,130 was way to much for a dress, but i did lots of things around the house and got on her good side and heyheyhey!! SHE GOT ME THE DRESS. just be nice to your mom for a lil while!!Name: kasey | Date: September 30, 2006, 5:51 pmomg u freakin spoiled brat that is the stupidest thing i have evr heard of!!!! christian dior is for people like beyonce not u !!!! ok!!! srry but that is the truthName: anita | Date: November 13, 2006, 11:20 amand wat did it look likeName: Kelly | Date: November 13, 2006, 5:57 pmYour mother is right. 1. Yeah, prom is a big thing. But you're only going to wear the dress what? Once? Yeah, I thought so. You don't need an insane, top of the line designer prom dress. For the love of god, be a smart shopper and look around at other prom dresses, find lower prices, shop sales, etc... 2. It's YOUR prom and therefore YOUR responsibility. If you honestly think the world will come screeching to a halt because you couldn't get what actually IS an obscenely expensive dress (yes it is; the average cost of a dress should be between $300-$500) then take everyone's advice: get a job, save up the money, and BUY IT YOURSELF. 3. Expecting your mother to pay that much for a dress you'll only wear once is immature, greedy, and obnoxious. It isn't your place to make your mother pay for anything, or convince her to do so.Name: critter | Date: November 13, 2006, 9:38 pmHey, I honestly think tha your mom is right. That dress is way too expensive. Why don't you try and find another dress for a cheaper price. Last year I got an absolutely gorgeous dress for 90 dollars and no one knew the difference. what is the point in spending all that money on a dress you will only wear 1 time when you could get a nice dress at a cheaper price and have some extra cash to do other things you would enjoy.Name: what are u thinkin | Date: November 14, 2006, 1:43 pmi don't know why you would want a dress that cost that much. i think that the first girl is right you do need to get a job. when i went to look at dresses i whould first look at the price before i took a good look at it. the dress that i loved cost about $200, but me and my step mom waited to get it becuse a week later it was on sale for $89. so just wait and see if it goes on sale.Name: daisy | Date: November 24, 2006, 4:49 pmhey, im going through the same thing, i want this chloe dress so bad, but the difference is that I didn't even ask my mom for it, it fully prepared to pay the full price myself. I just have to decide if I want to spend the money. SO, tell your mom you'll pay for half of it or something...or did you try your dad? peace
