I don't know what kind of dress to get

Okay, so I'm 4' 11". Lots of these prom dresses are really long, and I think they would just make me look shorter, so should I go with a shorter dress?

Don't go for a mid-thigh or mid-calf (tea-length) hemline - you'll look chopped up.
