More Fun Than Geometry Class

Are you taking geometry class this year? Even though this isn't the most interesting subject in school you can actually use the concepts of geometry to inspire a uniquely designed prom outfit. Today's top designers take a lot of inspiration from unique shapes, bold designs, and geometric shapes. So to incorporate geometry into your prom attire is not that hard. The fun part is mixing and matching the right designs so that they blend seamlessly. You can pull off a prom look with simplicity, or accessorize with a more complex bite. Using stripes, swirls, circles, squares, and even uneven patterns you can comprise a sweet outfit that will make you a style genius. It is easier to match up geometrically designed pieces when the bulk piece of the outfit is a solid palette.

Choose a Good Base Color

You can easily mix and match but the base color should be solid and everything else should revolve around that. Use your favorite colors mixed with cute designs that tickle your fancy. A simple mini can be a terrific base for any limitless design. With a solidly designed dress as a base you can either use major accessories to pump it up, or put it in reverse for the opposite look with the same effect. Use a bold, patterned dress with solid accessories. Metallic's can be used as a major accessory for any patterned design, no matter what color, this type of look is covering the red carpet (silver or blue metallic pumps or heels with large-print patterned dresses). Use bold accessories to pull off a big hit; large circle cuffs, chunky belts (the bigger the better), or lots and lots of layered pearls/beaded necklaces together.

You can shoot for a pumped-up style and find yourself creating the next wild trend if you are not careful. But be sure not to be afraid of patterned shoes; decorated platforms, bedazzled silk, studded peek-toes, and the list goes on. As long as it matches, or amplifies, the dress then the bolder the shoes are the sweeter the statement will be. A solid, one shape pair of earrings can be flattering for any geometric influenced outfit; use matching colors to promote a healthy love of similars. You may even find it in your best interest to switch up the usual prom-dress for a skirt and top match. It may be different but style can be brought from all spectrums; use a seamless pair to bring a dressy-look to a skirt and top separated outfit.
