The fashion trends of the newly crested year bring with them concepts that are sure to please. Any 'fashionista' will tell you that these flexible styles can be adjusted and taken just about anywhere-even to the prom. Now with new trends come new possibilities and newer, fresher concepts. The hottest new look comes to us from ancient Rome, Egypt, and even a bit of influence form the Celtic warrior woman. A threshold of strength and glitz was crossed to bring us the warrior-look. The military coat trend of 09' brought forth our newly found warrior look that has surpassed the simple military look to combine it with a sense of age-old mystery and historical elementals.
Implementing metal plating, chain-mail detailing, and a strong sense of tribal motifs into fashionable attire, these looks combine to bring a strong elegance to not just everyday looks but also to formal affairs. Although this look may be for the bold of heart, it can be converted to fearless goddess-like evening inspired garb. Sass & Bide spoke it best in their Spring/Summer 2010 runway show; the combination tribal fashion was revered as an ageless look that is rich with possibilities. The best way to incorporate this warrior fashion into prom attire, with confidence and creative magnitude, is by ultra-feminine pieces with tough accents. This brings an Egyptian-Goddess appearance to the forefront.
The best part of this fashion sense is the amazing amount of flexibility that is accessible with it. The most magnificent piece that I have seen which embraces the warrior concept was the 2010 presentation of a Versace dress; a romantic warrior woman scheme. The exquisite metallic detailing present on the breast-plate inspired bust was followed with flowing, multi-layered fabrics in subtle pink hues with an absolutely goddess-like appeal. Versace hit a high-note with this collection. The whole idea is to take swatches of loose fabric, light and soft materials, and mix them with metal accents. There is an absolute beauty in this concept and any strong, young woman would look absolutely thrilling in this warrior-tribal garb. It is not only a hot-trend but it is a way to show subtle strength in feminine pieces. This would absolutely be my pick for prom; the versatility mixed with the bold hues and the soft fabrics. I was immediately sold. Not to mention the accessories that have recently been top-market are the perfect accents for this type of look. Bib necklaces in pure metallic's, leather, and chain-mail are a few of the top-trends which were completely independent of the warrior-trend; bringing the accessories together for a full-look will make the outcome even more brilliant.
