2010 prom dresses

Fairy-Inspired Beauty

There is a new-found sight amongst prom-couture and it is a sweet site at that. When you hear the word 'ruffles' most of us are taken back to thoughts of the 80's; a time of big hair, spandex, and puffy shirts. The 2010 ruffle concepts are the latest wave of dress fashion with no faux-pas in sight. There are dozens of newly incorporated ruffle-versions that are stunning. The runways are full of fairy-inspired, 'shred' dresses that only use the descriptive word, ruffles, to define. Ruffles are actually the farthest thing from the natural description of this latest prom trend.

No Need for Accessories

These appointed ruffles can be converted to any form, of or on, the dress. After viewing hundreds of ruffle inspired dresses I notice that they are created in many different ways, with many different concepts. Some designers have used the ruffle appeal to adorn the trim, neckline, or edging of their dresses. Others use the ruffles to cover the entirety of the dress, while still more decide to use ruffles as an additive running from the waistline falling downward. This is quickly being denoted as the hottest 2010 prom trend in the designing industry. From what the top trend-setters, and critics, are saying the ruffle effect is being used as a 'pull away' tactic (and working very well). Stylists say that the designers chose the ruffles as a way to adorn certain areas of the female body, while pulling attention away from others. Women seem to have their own personal critiquing system and ruffles are a great way to give women the 'cover-up' they sometimes want, and need. The best part to this style is the hourglass effect it can create with its layers. Ruffles that envelop the entirety of a gown, or run asymmetrically from your top to your hips, can give your body an amazing hourglass shape without the hassle of a push-up and a corset!

One of the far favored aspects of ruffle dresses is the 'no need for accessories' facet. The dress itself will draw enough attention your way that the need for accessories is extremely minimized. A simple necklace, one chunky bracelet, or a profound ring will be plenty. There is no need to over-do it with this dress because it commands its own attention. If you add tons of bangles to your arms, or a giant bib necklace, you will lose the simplistic accessorizing effect that the dress creates on its own. Use the dress to your advantage and then enjoy the attention.
